All accepted abstracts will be displayed as Posters during the conference.


Access to all scientific sessions are only possible with your personal badge. Please always wear your badge! € 30.– will be charged for replacement of a lost badge.


Certificates of attendance will be handed out with your conference material at the Congress Secretariat onsite.


Stockholm lies on the shores of the Baltic Sea. In November, day time temperatures reach an average of four degrees Celsius while night time temperatures, drop down to one degree Celsius.

Coffee Breaks

Morning and afternoon coffee breaks are included in the registration fee and are served in the exhibition area. Please refer to the “Programme Overview” for the times.


The official currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona (SEK). All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.


The electrical current in Sweden is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Sockets take the standard, round-pinned European plugs.


After the conference, you will receive an email with a request to fill in an online survey. Please take a moment to fill in the questionnaire. Your answers will be used to evaluate the scientific content of the programme in order to continuously improve it for future meetings.

The official conference language is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided. The national language of Sweden is Swedish. English is a popular foreign language spoken and understood in Stockholm.

Stockholm is in the Central European Time Zone (CET). CET is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).


The 2016 ESO Karolinska Stroke Update Conference will be held at the Elite Hotel Marina Tower Stockholm which is located in a historical mill on the waterfront, only a few minutes from the city centre. The hotel offers 186 tastefully furnished hotel rooms, a restaurant and conference facilities.
